Ryan Seacrest stalker jailed for 2 years
A man accused of stalking American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been jailed for 2 years.
Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr, 26, was sentenced at Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday.
He has also been ordered to stay at least 500 yards away from Ryan, 35, and any of his workplaces for the next 10 years.
‘He is extremely appreciative of the work of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office in this matter,' said lawyer Blair Berk after the hearing.
Uzomah Jr has been in custody since he was arrested on 30 October 2009 after turning up to an LA office where Ryan was recording a show - violating a prior court order.
He pleaded no contest to the charge of felony stalking, reports the BBC.
As part of the sentence, 2 misdemeanour counts of violating the prior court order were dropped.
