Frank Skinner: I lost millions in credit crunch crisis

Comedian talks about the shock of losing his investments

Frank Skinner

Frank Skinner has revealed he lost millions of pounds in the economic recession through investments in a US bank.

But he chatted over the problem with his girlfriend and realised it wasn't the end of the world.

'She said, "You know we'll be all right. You can still get work. You can go back and do the clubs, we can move to a smaller place".

'And we actually dealt with it quite well. I never really had the big panic about it, which I now find very reassuring,' Frank, 53, told Kirsty Young on Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this morning.

'If anything put the mojo back in me it was the idea that I might not have money left.

'It gave me my hunger back.

'I'm not a very extravagant man really - as long as I have got a season ticket for West Bromwich Albion. I drive a very run-of-the-mill car, I do live in a posh flat, I must admit - I like a nice view.'
