Hollywood star to take on role of Egyptian Queen

Angelina Jolie has finished filming The Tourist with Johnny Depp

Angelina Jolie is set to star as Cleopatra in a new film

Film producer Scott Rudin bought the rights to Queen Of The Nile, Cleopatra: A Life Story, with Angelina Jolie specifically in mind for the movie's leading role.

'[The movie] is being developed for and with Jolie,' confirm Scott's office.

The author of the biography, Stacy Schiff, is delighted Angelina, 35, is set to play the part.

'Physically, she's the perfect look,' says Stacy.

Cleopatra was most famously played by Elizabeth Taylor in 1963.
