Leona Lewis had to leap to safety on the opening night of her UK tour at Sheffield Arena.
A hydraulic lift that takes Leona and her dancers from below stage to the set failed towards the end of her performance.
'When I fell down the lift shaft it was a bit scary,' admits the singer.
'I was lucky not to get injured.
'Fortunately it happened during a blackout on set so it didn't affect the show and none of the audience saw anything.
'I got a shock and had to be rescued.'
The X Factor winner, 25, has calmed herself down since the incident and is now having fun on the rest of her tour.
'I was glad to get the first night out of the way and am enjoying myself now,' Leona tells The Sun.
'And Simon Cowell sent me so many flowers my dressing room is completely full!'
