Lady Gaga: My hats keep the devil away

Singer claims headwear protects her from dark forces

Lady Gaga has expressed her love for Philip Treacy hats

Lady Gaga believes her adventurous hat choices protect her from evil.

'The more interesting and outrageous the better,' she says.

'For me, it keeps the devil away.

'I always like when I have a hat that's big enough to keep people away at pretentious parties, it's protection.'

Lady Gaga, 24, is particulary fond of headwear by Philip Treacy.

'They protect me in a different way, a social canopy. I love Stephen Jones too.'

The diva - real name Stefani Germanotta - insists her zany onstage persona and her real-life personality are exactly the same.

'The biggest misconception about me is that I'm a character, or Gaga is separate from Stefani,' she tells showstudio.com.

'We are one and the same, there is no difference.'
