Westlife star Nicky Byrne was rushed to a Liverpool hospital on Friday night after injuring himself during a play fight.

The singer was wrestling bandmate Kian Egan following their gig at the city's Echo Arena when he hit his head on a glass table.

Nicky, 31, is now recovering after getting stitches.

‘All fun and stupid lads joking about,' he wrote on his Twitter.

‘Thanks to all in Liverpool A&E! I'm healing already and thanks for all your concerns. Five stitches but they gave me a certificate of bravery.'
