World War II bombs were discovered near George Clooney's home in Italy yesterday.

The military sealed off an area just 45 feet away from the Up In The Air actor's Lake Como mansion.

An arsenal that included grenades and mortars were removed from the waters.

Authorities were alerted after a fisherman pulled an explosive device from the bottom of the lake.

George, 48, was not at his villa at the time but has since played down the incident.

‘This is not the first bomb I've experienced,' he says in a statement to Access Hollywood.

George is dating Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, 31.

He bought the Lake Como property in 2002 for almost $10million.
