Martina Navratilova diagnosed with breast cancer

Tennis ace begins radiotherapy next month

Martina Navratilova came second on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2009

Martina Navratilova has revealed she is battling breast cancer.

The ex-Wimbledon champ has a non-invasive form of the disease called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

'I found out on February 24 - it was my personal 9/11,' Martina tells Good Morning America.

'I was devastated. Physically I could not think or move, I was useless.'

Martina, 53, has already had a lumpectomy to remove the tumour and some surrounding tissue.

She begins a six week course of radiotherapy next month.

Martina was runner-up to Joe Swash on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year.
