When WAG Abbey Clancy journeyed across the Thar Desert with her mum, Karen, for new TV series The Parent Trip, she had to get used to living rough.
Trekking across India on camel for nine hours a day, the lingerie model swapped her life of luxury for living in a tent and eating with her hands.
‘We didn't wash for the nine days we were there,' reveals Abbey, 24. ‘We had to pee in the bushes!'
The food was also a challenge - at first. The former TV presenter likes to eat cheesecake and chocolate pudding at home, but there was only one thing on the menu during the trip.
‘All we ate was curry,' she says. 'We would have curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After a few days we were craving it.'
Abbey, 24, was so hooked on the hot stuff, she celebrated her reunion with footballer fiancé Peter Crouch, 29, in the UK with an Indian takeaway.
'I'm just happy I've done this amazing, scary thing,' she admits. 'It was the best experience of my life. I loved every second of it.'
See Abbey Clancy in The Parent Trip on Thursday 8 April 2010 at 9.00pm on ITV2.
