Katie Price and Alex Reid fancy an apartment in LA

When Katie Price, 31, and Alex Reid, 34, were in LA recently, they secretly looked at an exclusive home she'd had her eye on for a family base.

The idea is to locate to the US for half of the year, with the other half spent at their UK home.

The five-star apartment is on Fountain Avenue, the most desirable celebrity neighbourhood in LA, and costs about £3,000 a week.

It lies in the shadow of the super-exclusive Sunset Tower Hotel - the venue of this year's Vanity Fair Oscar party - and A-list hangout Chateau Marmont, where even Marilyn Monroe partied.

The only problem is, Jordan needs to be approved by a snobby panel to get accepted - and the same panel turned down Anna Nicole Smith.

She's been asked to submit a portfolio of her work to the strict panel, including her glamour work and her numerous business ventures.

She'll also have to discuss two relevant Hollywood issues and one international matter with them before they'll even consider her.

‘Some would say that Jordan has ideas above her station,' a source tells Now.

‘She's talked about having a Hollywood film made of her life, although the talks she had about a role in the Sex And The City film came to nothing.

It's unlikely that a rigorous selection process will approve a glamour model and reality star if they turned down Anna Nicole Smith.'
