Sophie Anderton stalker found guilty

Stockbroker banned from contacting model

Sophie Anderton was a Gossard Wonderbra model

A man has been convicted of harassing Sophie Anderton.

Stockbroker Paul Davis of Enfield, north London, said he wanted to marry the model on a mountain.

He also told her he'd like to buy her a diamond ring and take her to Claridges for dinner.

The 59-year-old sent her a string of texts over a four-month period last year.

Sophie, 32, also received calls from Davis, including one when she was at the police station. 

‘When the texts became more personal, I started getting rather
frightened,' she told West London Magistrates' Court. 

'And towards the end I couldn't go on the Tube. I couldn't walk anywhere without looking over my shoulder and I was frightened.'

Davis has suffered from bipolar disorder since 1968 and was previously sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

He denied one charge of harassment on the grounds of insanity.

But District Judge Andrew Sweet ruled his illness was no defence. 

He was given an 18-month conditional discharge and must not contact the Love Island star.
