Lee Mead: I'll hold Denise's hand during labour

Stage star wants to be at his wife's side

Lee Mead and Denise Van Outen got married in the Seychelles in April 2009

Lee Mead plans to be in the delivery room with Denise Van Outen when she gives birth.

The couple are expecting their first child - a girl - in May.

'I 100 per cent want to be with Denise when she goes into labour,' says Lee, 28. 

'Whatever happens, I'll be holding her hand.'

Lee is looking forward to fatherhood. 

'I want to be a hands-on dad,' he says. 'I'll be changing nappies and supporting Denise in any way I can...

'She will be an amazing mum. She's really glowing with her pregnancy and has enjoyed the whole thing. It's lovely to see.'

Lee and Denise, 35, have already started preparing for the little one's arrival.

'Our daughter-to-be already has about ten dresses in her little wardrobe,' he says. 'It's so sweet.'
