Brad Pitt makes surprise appearance at Kick-Ass premiere

Actor spends an hour on the red carpet

Brad Pitt left Angelina Jolie in Venice to attend the Kick-Ass premiere

Brad Pitt turned up unexpectedly at the London premiere of Kick-Ass last night.

The actor - who co-produced the movie - flew into the capital by private jet.

Brad, 46, braved the rain to greet fans on the red carpet for over an hour.

‘Thanks for coming out,' he told the crowd. ‘It's great to be back.'

Jonathan Ross, Mika, Jamie Oliver, Dizzee Rascal and Claudia Schiffer attended.

Brad's partner Angelina Jolie, 34, remained in Venice, Italy, where she is filming The Tourist.

On Sunday, the couple took Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 3, to co-star Johnny Depp's house for a play-date with his kids Lily-Rose, 10, and Jack, 7.
