Cheryl Cole sparks Girls Aloud split rumour

Star talks about band in the past tense

Cheryl Cole has separated from her husband Ashley following claims he cheated

Cheryl Cole worried Girls Aloud fans when she appeared to suggest she's no longer a member.

The X Factor star referred to the band in the past tense when discussing her music on Danish TV.

‘The previous three tracks were with a girl group I was with for seven years,' she said.

'So to be number one solo was crazy, like the best feeling in the world.'

But a Girls Aloud spokesman insists Cheryl, 26, hasn't quit.

‘Cheryl is still a member of Girls Aloud,' he said.

'She was just putting her solo number one into context for an audience that would not be aware of Girls Aloud.'
