Spencer Pratt will be finding it hard to kiss wife Heidi Montag

Spencer Pratt had to get stitches in his mouth on Monday.

The Hills star - who is married to Heidi Montag, 23 - reportedly bit down on his tongue and ended up with a nasty gash while playing a game with his pet dog.

Spencer, 26, who has been unable to talk for the past few days, posted photos of doctors treating him on his Twitter account.

‘[He sees it] as a sign from God that he needs to continue to keep his mouth shut in 2010,' a source tells TMZ.

Spencer's treatment was not nearly as painful as when wife Heidi had ten plastic surgery procedures in one day in November.
