Lady Gaga: I'd rather die than be seen without heels

Singer likes to stay glam for her fans

Lady Gaga knows how to attract attention

Lady Gaga wouldn't be seen dead in ordinary clothes.

The singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, says her outrageous outfits help give off a sense of showbiz glitz.

'I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels,' Lady Gaga, 23, reveals on tonight's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

'I'd never give up my wigs and hats for anything. You see legendary people taking out their trash, I think it's destroying showbusiness.

'I feel completely detached from the celebrity world, you never see me falling out of nightclubs.'

Lady Gaga admits her hectic schedule has taken a toll on her personal life.

'I don't have time to get to know anybody,' she said. 'I'm single and alone. Nobody would put up with my craziness.

'I don't even have a house - my home is on the road.' 

Lady Gaga performs Telephone and Brown Eyes and sports a phone-shaped hat to promote her new single.
