Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are working hard at their relationship for the sake of their six children - and they want the best for their brood.

Twins Vivienne and Knox are being shielded from the public as they're only 20 months old and Shiloh, 3, is going through a difficult toddler stage.

‘She has a lot of tantrums and with so many kids it's hard for Brad and Ange to handle her sometimes,' says Now's source.

‘Maddox [8] has recently been fixated on getting a puppy and Brad isn't that opposed to the idea, but Ange wonders if every kid will then demand their own pet.

'Brad and Angie hate saying "no" to any of their kids, so they just keep putting Maddox off. But he just won't give up!'

Pax, 6, is shyer than the other children and his parents want to bring him out of himself.

‘Brad and Ange have been trying to think of ways to build his self-esteem,' says our insider.

‘Brad decided to buy him hockey lessons, but Ange insists it's only for a trial period because if Pax doesn't excel it'll have the opposite effect.

'He's getting more withdrawn and they want to nip it in the bud.'
