Vernon Kay makes on-air apology for sex texts

Vernon Kay interrupted his Radio 1 show to make an on-air apology to his wife Tess Daly.

The Family Fortunes host addressed the revelations he sent saucy texts to five women.

‘I've disappointed and let down a lot of people,' he said. ‘To my family and everybody, I'm very sorry.'

After the show on Saturday, Vernon, 35, was snapped taking an unusual route home to avoid photographers.

He got out of a taxi on the hard shoulder of the M40, jumped a barrier and then walked through bushes and woods to his Buckinghamshire mansion.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing star Tess, 40, has cancelled all TV and public appearances to promote her new book The Baby Diaries.

‘She is taking some time out so we've rescheduled her diary,' her spokeswoman tells The Sun. ‘But she will be signing books in due course.'
