Sandra Bullock: I dyed my short 'n' curlies for Valentine’s Day

Actress recounts her painful experience

Sandra Bullock is a real romantic

Sandra Bullock's idea for a romantic Valentine's Day surprise went horribly wrong.

The actress, who is married to TV presenter Jesse James, ended up in a lot of pain and didn't even get the result she wanted.

‘I decided for Valentine's Day I would do a special hair thing,' recalls Sandra. ‘I wanted to try and create a pink heart shape with my lower hair.

‘It was painful. You had to bleach it first. There's something about bleach that feels like acid.'

Texas-born Sandra, 45, isn't one to give up easily so she gritted her teeth and carried on.

‘Then I had to shave it,' she explains. 'I was in so much pain, but I kept going, and put the pink dye on and it went the wrong colour!'
