Vernon Kay: Tess and I both like a bit of a gamble

TV's favourite celebrity couple - Tess Daly and Vernon Kay

What you might not know about Vernon Kay and wife Tess Daly, 38, is that they're both secret cardsharps.

‘We only gamble what we can afford,' Vernon revealed to Now.

‘On our first holiday together in Spain, we just thought: "Yeah, let's go and play blackjack!"

'It was really good fun and we did alright. We had 100 Euros and we walked away with 300.'

Vernon, 35, and Tess, 38, married in 2003 and, until the recent revelations about Vernon's saucy texts to other women, their partnership seemed perfect.

Now Vern has to make his amends to the woman he credited with helping him mature.

'I wouldn't say she's tamed me,' he insists, 'but she's definitely pointed me towards another direction. I'm a lot more responsible now...'
