Charlie Sheen charged with assault

Actor due back in court on 15 March

Charlie Sheen faces up to three years in jail if convicted

Charlie Sheen has been charged with threatening and assaulting his wife Brooke Mueller.

The actor's accused of holding a knife to her throat during an alleged dispute at their Aspen home on Christmas Day. 

Charlie, 44, is charged with menacing, misdemeanour assault and criminal mischief.

He did not enter a plea at yesterday's hearing in Colorado and is due back in court on 15 March. 

A restraining order barring him from contacting Brooke, 32, was modified.

Charlie and Brooke have indicated they'll reconcile and hugged as they left court.

Brooke, who has ten-month-old twins Max and Bob with Charlie, wants prosecutors to drop the case.
