Gerard Butler: I'd love to play James Bond

Actor says there have been lots of rumours

Gerard Butler has been linked to Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson

Gerard Butler wants to be the next James Bond.

The actor says there's been so many rumours about him starring as the iconic character that he'd now like to try it out for real. 

'I'd love to play [James Bond], but it's been said so often, so inaccurately,' Gerard, 40, tells Now.

'I was in my flat in London, wrestling with a busted shower, and I heard a news report that I was going to be 007. I thought: ‘If only it were true, but I have to fix this shower.'

Daniel Craig is the current James Bond but Jordan's new husband Alex Reid also fancies the role.
