Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend met on set of 2001 thriller Trapped

Charlize Theron is reported to have separated from her partner of nine years.

The star, 34, and actor Stuart Townsend are said to have broken up after a trip to Mexico at Christmas.

Charlize sparked rumours of a split when she was seen without a 'commitment' ring given to her by Stuart, 27.

The actress wasn't wearing it during the Hope For Haiti Now telethon last week.

And it was apparently missing when she went for dinner at an LA restaurant on Wednesday.

But Charlize reportedly told a Mail On Sunday journalist, 'That's crazy,' when asked about the claims.

Her rep adds: ‘I never comment on her personal life.'
