Declan Donnelly admits there's a downside to winning a National Television Award.

The presenter once ended up in hospital when he failed to keep hold of the gong.

‘They're heavy,' Dec, 34, tells OK! 'I dropped one on my foot once and split it open.

'That was an interesting A&E trip!'

Dec and Anthony McPartlin celebrated a double win at the National Television Awards last week.

They took home the prize for Most Popular Entertainment Presenter.

And their ITV show Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was named Most Popular Entertainment Programme.
