Suzanne Shaw joins Emmerdale

Singer will begin filming next month

Dancing On Ice winner Suzanne Shaw has a son with her ex Darren Day

Ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw is to star in Emmerdale. 

The Dancing On Ice 2008 champion is to play Eve Birch, the granddaughter of Edna Birch, played by Shirley Stelfox. 

'I am so excited to be joining the cast of such a popular and long-standing show,' says Suzanne, 28. 

'Eve is going to be such a fun character to play. She's a real flirt and her arrival is definitely going to cause fireworks.'

Suzanne begins filming next month and will make her debut in the ITV1 soap in April.

'Viewers can look forward to some explosive storylines as Eve cranks up the heat in the village,' series producer Gavin Blyth tells the BBC.

Suzanne - who is married to DJ Jason King - has previously starred in West End shows Chicago and The
Rocky Horror Show.
