Stephen Gately death investigation closed

Boyzone star died of natural causes

The official investigation into Stephen Gately's death has been closed.

The Boyzone singer passed away from natural causes, Spanish judge Carmen Abrines ruled yesterday.

She said there was no evidence drink and drugs were contributory factors. 

A preliminary autopsy revealed Stephen, 33, had a build-up of fluid in the lungs. 

It also showed he suffered from an undiagnosed heart condition,
which thickened his arteries.

Stephen was found dead at his holiday home in Majorca after a night out with civil partner Andrew Cowles in October.
