James Sutton: Snogging guys is like kissing girls with stubble

But Emmerdale star admits filming smooches is weird

James Sutton doesn't think there's much difference between snogging a girl and kissing a man.

The actor used to regularly lock lips with male co-stars when he played gay student John Paul McQueen in Hollyoaks. 

'I never had a problem with kissing guys,' James, 26, tells Now.

'It's just like kissing girls, but with stubble.'

But James, who now stars as Ryan Lamb in Emmerdale, admits he's still not comfortable with shooting on-screen smooches.

'Kissing on screen isn't sexy at all and it makes you feel a bit weird,' he adds.

'Just make sure you have chewing gum and stay away from cigarettes and coffee.'
