Britney Spears loses the plot again

The singer is lonely, erratic and dogged by strange behaviour that led to her latest break-up

Britney Spears is suffering from insomnia

Crying in public, embarrassing meltdowns, jealous rages - not the Britney Spears of old, but examples of the singer's recent behaviour.

The mum-of-two is a million miles from the glossy, healthy star she once was and Jason Trawick, Britney's agent, has ended their relationship because of her strange behaviour.

‘Britney goes through manic stages where her behaviour gets out of control,' says our source. ‘Jason's older and while he still likes clubbing, he also enjoys having nice dinners with close friends.

‘Britney can be very excitable. She's been known 
to jump on the table and start dancing and seems to like nothing more than describing the most intimate details of their sex life to people she's only just met.'

The relationship with Jason was suspected by some as a smokescreen for her ongoing mental health problems.

But while the source confirms that the relationship was real, it was far from run of the mill: ‘Let's just say their sexual libidos were out of sync and her demands began wearing Jason out.

It was Britney's jealousy that forced Jason to call time on the six-month relationship after reports that he'd been seen chatting up two girls at the Roger Room in LA on 30 December.

‘She's very jealous and couldn't stand it when Jason talked to or even looked at other girls. She often checked his emails and would demand he pass over his phone so that she could see who was calling.

‘She raged at Jason about his friendship with certain girls, even work colleagues. He told her she was acting hysterically, but that seemed to make 
her more possessive.'

Friends also say Britney's become convinced that she's being spied on. One friend says: ‘All the years of paps following her have got to her and even at home she's convinced that people are hiding in the bushes.

'She's very paranoid and can't sleep, She sometimes gets someone to drive her around at night to rock her to sleep.'

One of the most worrying signs of her troubles returning 
is Britney's renewed contact with the photographer Adnan Ghalib, who exploited his relationship with the star at the height of her mania two years ago.

‘She's been texting him again, although everyone's told her he doesn't have her best interests at heart,' says our source. ‘No one wants to see her go back to the bad old days, but it's starting to look inevitable.'
