Dannii Minogue feared she would never have kids.

But The X Factor judge is now expecting her first baby at the age of 38.

‘A while ago I went to my doctor for a check-up and he told me I'd got to the stage in my life where I'd have to make decisions about having children,' explains Dannii.

‘I remember thinking, "Oh God. I'm now that person who is getting too old to have kids."

‘I told him it wasn't an issue for me because I didn't have a man, there was no one on the horizon, and there probably never would be.'

Dannii is delighted to be starting a family with boyfriend Kris Smith, 31.

‘My life has been turned upside down, inside out and everything,' she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I mean everything is fresh and new and exciting.

‘[Kris] has changed everything. He's changed me and I just feel like the sun is shining every day. It's amazing.

‘I found The One and I am exploding with happiness. Kris is so completely broody.

'I'm totally in a panic about everything - babies, living together and working miles apart. It all seems so complicated.

‘But, hey, it's wonderful to have problems caused by being completely in love.'
