Mariah Carey baffled guests at the Palm Springs International Film Festival with a bizarre acceptance speech.

The singer went on stage to collect the Breakthrough Performance gong for her role in Precious.

After jumping on director Lee Daniels, Mariah launched into a seven-minute ramble.

‘Please forgive me because I am a little bit...' she said as she addressed the crowd.

Mariah, 40, even tried to start a round of applause - but it was met with deathly silence.
