Will Robbie Williams actually tie the knot with Ayda Field?

Robbie Williams shocked the world - and even his mum - when he proposed to actress Ayda Field on Aussie radio before Christmas.

But he quickly claimed it was all a joke, even though his mum confirmed the happy news.

Now the former Take That star, 35, is reported to have proposed to Ayda, 30, again last week at the couple's home in LA.

'He just couldn't help himself - he's like an excitable puppy. He wanted to wait until midnight on New Year's Eve to pop the question, but just couldn't hang on,' a source tells the Sun.

Robbie and Ayda have been an item for three years and seem well suited.

‘When Robbie met Ayda, she had very little awareness of his fame in the UK,' a source tells Now.

‘Now that he's started his comeback, she's seen all the screaming fans and what he's like under pressure.'

Ayda can take most of Robbie's excesses in her stride - one of the reasons friends say this relationship works while others have fallen by the wayside.
