Katy Perry 'engaged to Russell Brand'

Katy Perry and boyfriend Russell Brand are getting very serious about each other and are expected to confirm their engagement in the New Year.

Russell, 34, not only took Katy to see his beloved West Ham play before Christmas, he's said to have put his north London home on the market and snapped up a £2.2million mansion in LA for the couple to share.

Katy jetted off the California to be with her family on Christmas Day but Russell is expected to join her to celebrate the New Year.

'Russell knows Katy's the one for him,' a source tells the Daily Mail.

'He's never been into a girl like he has with her and they're besotted. He asked her to marry him last week and she quickly said yes.

'Russell is searching for a jewellery designer to make up a ring in time for New Year after the pair discussed what they wanted to have.'

In his autobiography, My Booky Wook, Russell talks about battling his addiction to drugs and sleeping with prostitutes and admits he'd really like to meet the right girl.

'She's amazing. I'm having a right laugh,' he said of Katy recently. 'She's a good person to spend time with and it's changed me - it's made me stop doing stuff that I probably shouldn't have been doing.'
