Jessica Simpson has led tributes to the late Brittany Murphy.
The actress, 32, died at LA's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday morning after going into cardiac arrest.
‘Brittany Murphy was an incredible ray of light to so many people,' Jessica, 29, wrote on her Twitter. ‘My prayers are with her family and loved ones.'
Lindsay Lohan, Denise Richards, Simon Pegg, Juliette Lewis and Kim Kardashian have also expressed their sadness on the social networking site.
‘My deepest condolences go out to all of Brittany Murphy's loved ones and may she rest in peace,' wrote Lindsay, 23. ‘She was a great talent w/a beautiful soul.'
Alicia Silverstone, who starred alongside Brittany in 1995 film Clueless, has issued a statement.
‘I'm so saddened to hear this news,' it reads. ‘I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm and so sweet.
‘I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together. I feel love in my heart for her-and hope she is at peace.'
And Girl, Interrupted co-star Whoopi Goldberg has offered Brittany's her support.
‘It is a terrible loss for us as actors and to the industry but even greater for her family,' she tells E! Online. ‘My thoughts and prayers are with them.'
