Singer responds to false rumour online

Jessica Simpson was married to singer Nick Lachey

Jessica Simpson has dismissed a report linking her to Tiger Woods.

The singer, 29, met the golfer at the AT&T National Pro-Am tournament in July.

She performed the US national anthem at the event, which she attended with then-boyfriend Tony Romo. 

'Can't believe that I'm on the cover of Star magazine with Tiger Woods,' Jessica wrote on Twitter.

'What a JOKE! "The Shocking Inside Story" is (insert drumroll) A LIE!'

Jessica is considering taking legal action over the article.

'Literally the only thing that's true in the story is the fact that they met,' her publicist tells E! Online.

'It was a quick meeting, and they posed for a photo together - that was it.

'Jessica's lawyer is sending them a letter this afternoon.'
