Adrian Chiles: I chopped half my willy off

Presenter had an accident as a child

Adrian Chiles divorced from wife Jane Garvey this year

Adrian Chiles has revealed that he had his fair share of cuts and bruises as a child.

The presenter was smashed in the face with a cricket bat at the age of eight but also suffered a much more delicate injury a few years later.

‘When I was 11 I fell off my bike and chopped half my willy off,' he says. ‘They had to sew it back on.'

But Adrian, 42, didn't let the unfortunate mishap get in the way of his passion for football.

‘I was such a man I didn't stay overnight,' he tells Observer magazine. ‘It was the day of the cup final in 1978 and I wanted to get back and watch it.'
