Courtney Love respects Frances Bean Cobain's decision

Courtney Love's teenage daughter has gone to live with her grandmother.

Frances Bean, the singer's child with the late Kurt Cobain, will reside with her paternal gran and aunt.

Wendy O'Connor and Kimberly Cobain were made temporary guardians in papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

But Courtney, 45, has not lost custody of Frances.

‘Frances is 17 and a strong-willed child, and this is a decision she made on her own,' Courtney's lawyer Keith A Fink tells People.

'No matter what, Courtney loves her daughter more than anything in the world.'

Wendy and Kimberly are now responsible for Frances' education, living situation and health care.

Courtney, 45, who wasn't in court on Friday, lost custody of Frances in 2003 but regained it in 2005.
