SEE VIDEO Simon Cowell: The X Factor may not be back next year

Simon Cowell has revealed that he has yet to sign a contract with ITV for another series of The X Factor.

The judge, 50, hinted that negotiations are still taking place over money.

'Part of the reason the show is so successful is ITV invested loads of money to make it better,' Simon said at a press conference.

'The issue now is not about salaries for people on the show, it is about getting more money to invest in production.

'We've got to make sure if we do bring it back, it's going to be better than this year.'
