SEE VIDEO Simon Cowell slams X Factor Facebook campaign

Simon Cowell has slammed a recent Facebook campaign to stop The X Factor winner reaching No 1 in the charts.

The campaign, aimed at getting heavy metal band Rage Against The Machine to the Christmas top spot, has irritated the TV judge.

'It's a cynical campaign geared at me,' Simon said at a press conference. 'Me having a Christmas No 1 is not going to change my life.

'It does however change these guys' lives.'

Simon also said the campaign insinuated that viewers of the show are stupid.
