Star joins Britain's Got Talent singer on stage

Susan Boyle told Britain's Got talent judges it was her dream to sing like Elaine Paige

Susan Boyle has fulfilled a lifelong ambition by singing with her idol Elaine Paige.

The Britain's Got Talent runner-up knew nothing of the duet until shortly before the performance.

‘I never thought I would see myself standing on the same stage with such an icon from the West End theatre, let alone singing with her as an equal,' says Susan.

Susan was filming her TV special I Dreamed A Dream when she was given the chance to sing I Know Him So Well with Elaine.

‘She was a delight to work with and I think we more than did justice to one of my favourite songs,' says Elaine.

Susan, 48, surprised the audience by performing an impromptu dance during the one-hour special.

The Scottish singer launched into a lively jig during her rendition of I Was Born To Be.

I Dreamed A Dream airs on ITV this Sunday after The X Factor.
