Tiger Woods has pubicly apologised following allegations he had a number of affairs

Tiger Woods's mum-in-law is recovering after being taken to hospital early yesterday morning.

Barbro Holmberg, the mother of the golfer's wife Elin Nordegren, was admitted to Health Central Hospital in Florida, after complaining of stomach pains.

The 57-year-old was assessed by emergency services called to the couple's home at 2.36am.

It is the same medical centre where Tiger, 33, was treated after his car crash on November 27.

The incident led to a string of reports of alleged affairs involving the sportsman.
