Jay-Z hosts star-studded 40th birthday party

Kanye West and P Diddy among guests

Jay-Z's guests had to use a password to get into the party

Jay-Z marked turning 40 with the help of his A-list pals in the Dominican Republic at the weekend.

Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys and Kate Hudson were among the stars flown from New York by private jet to the Casa de Campo resort.

The rapper's wife Beyoncé Knowles and his mum Gloria were the guests of honour.

The party is said to have been themed around iconic Al Pacino gangster movie Scarface.

Following a slap-up meal, including caviar and vintage Dom Perignon champagne, partygoers were treated to performances from Kanye, 32, and P Diddy, 40.

Jay-Z even took to the stage with Alicia, 28, to sing their duet Empire State Of Mind.

The night came to a close with a stunning fireworks display.
