Steve Jones: I wanted to be a fire engine

Presenter had unusual childhood ambitions

Steve Jones had dreams of becoming a big red truck

Steve Jones didn't always see himself as a television presenter.

The T4 star had a very different idea about what he wanted to do with his life.

‘My mum says that when I was little I went up to her and announced, "When I grow up I want to be a fire engine",' he says. ‘I still do.'

Now Steve, 32, has a successful showbiz career, he says it's hard to find a minute to relax and do the things he enjoys.

‘It's very rare that I have time for myself,' he tells the Sunday Express magazine.

‘When I do, I'll stay at home, watch a DVD, get a bowl of ice cream and a bottle of wine - a bit like a girl really.'
