Singer says proposal to Ayda Field was just a joke

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field have been dating for two years

Robbie Williams has denied he is planning to marry girlfriend Ayda Field.

'We are not engaged,' he says on his website, despite his mum Jan confirming the good news.

On Friday the singer, 35, asked Ayda to become his 'betrothed until the end of time' live on Australian radio station 2day FM.

Robbie's spokesman says: 'We have no more comment on this apart from to confirm that they are not engaged.'

The former Take That star has been dating Ayda for nearly three years.
