Ricky Whittle's in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks

Strictly Come Dancing star Ricky Whittle has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

The Hollyoaks actor is being held by officers in Liverpool after an alleged incident early this morning.

Merseyside police confirm a 29-year-old man from Billinge, Greater Manchester, is being questioned.

The incident is said to have involved a collision between a car and a male pedestrian, who suffered minor injuries.

Ricky, 29 - who plays Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks - is favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing.
