Kym Marsh is alone again

Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas are already facing fresh challenges in their relationship after getting back together.

Last week, Jamie caught a flight to LA, having finally got the news that a string of Hollywood TV casting agents want to see him about potential roles.

‘Jamie's just been handed the chance of a lifetime and he couldn't turn it down,' a friend tells Now.

‘Kym understands that, but was devastated when he told her. He's missed her and the kids terribly since he moved out and they talk more on the phone now than they ever did.

'His shot at breaking America couldn't have come at a worse time for them, but on the other hand he's terribly excited about seeing what the US has in store for him.'

The pair looked happy to be back together, but the timing's ironic. They announced their split in October, then rekindled their love weeks later.

Friends say that one reason tensions arose was Jamie's lack of ambition compared to Kym. He put on weight after leaving Hollyoaks in May while Kym, 33, was busier - and sexier - than ever on Coronation Street.

‘It's good news that Jamie's moving towards becoming a Hollywood name and Kym supports him,' says our source. ‘But if he's liked, he could be in California for months.'

Jamie, 29, is now waiting to hear if his trip has been a success, but friends say he's ‘on cloud nine'.

A spokesman for Kym says: ‘She's fully supportive of his plans to try and get work in the States, as she always has been.'
