David Beckham: I was inspired by Brad Pitt to grow a beard

David Beckham lives in LA with wife Victoria and their three sons

David Beckham says he grew a beard to look like Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

The LA Galaxy player abandoned his razor so that he could look just as sexy.

'I saw Brad Pitt and thought he looked really good,' David told American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

'He was one of my inspirations.'

David, 34, revealed his secret on popular US radio show On Air With Ryan Seacrest last week.

At the time of the interview Becks had trimmed the bushy beard into a neat stubble, ready for an LA Galaxy game later that night.
