Wayne Rooney has splashed out £100,000 on a Range Rover.

The footballer, 24, has also had the top-of-the-range motor customised by car firm Overfinch to make it even more luxurious.

Meanwhile, Wayne's dad Wayne Senior, 46, saw a crook drive off with his £30,000 Mercedes C220 on Saturday after he left his keys in the ignition at a petrol station in Liverpool.

‘We can confirm we are investigating the theft of a black Mercedes sports car,' a Merseyside Police spokesman tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘The incident occurred at a petrol station in Queens Drive, Liverpool, at about 7.15am.

‘The male driver of the vehicle was not in his car at the time. He was not subjected to any threats or violence or receive any injury.

‘We are pursuing all lines of inquiry, including CCTV.'
