James Van Der Beek and Heather McComb have been married for nearly six years
James Van Der Beek is divorcing wife Heather McComb.
The Dawson's Creek star filed papers at an LA court, reports People.
James, 32, and Heather announced their separation in June.
They tied the knot in Malibu in July 2003.
James's former co-star Michelle Williams was among the guests at their wedding.
