Singer gives presenter a helping hand

Mariah Carey tried to wipe Alan Carr with a newspaper and a hanky

Alan Carr covered himself in booze while interviewing Mariah Carey on his TV show.

The mishap occurred when the presenter offered the singer a drink from his cabinet.

He narrowly avoided soaking her in her own brand of champagne as the cork shot out of the bottle.

Mariah attempted to help mop up the mess and even cleaned Alan's glasses with a hanky. 

‘We need something to wipe you up,' she said as she grabbed for a paper. 

‘Oh a newspaper, you're so thoughtful!' retorted Alan.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man airs on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm.
