Composer being treated for infection

Andrew Lloyd Webber is battling an infection

Andrew Lloyd Webber was rushed to a London hospital yesterday.

The composer - who is battling prostrate cancer - has developed an infection following a surgical procedure 3 weeks ago.

‘Andrew has been re-admitted to hospital following his operation for prostate cancer,' reads a statement on his website.

‘He has been advised that while the operation was entirely successful, he has developed a post-operative "chronic infection" which needs immediate treatment.'

Andrew, 61, is expected to remain at the clinic for 2 to 3 days while he recovers. 

He will return to TV screens next year for a new BBC show to find the perfect Dorothy for a Wizard Of Oz musical.
